[AVPPride] Update on AV Pagan Pride Day 2005

Hi Lisa,

I came to the moot last month. I bought that tarot book from you remember? I 
will try and come out to the moot tonight. I was reading this message you 
posted and want to help. My older kids I know wouldn't mind helping out either. 
They owe me since I helped them out for a anime convention last year. I am 
thinking of talking to the guy that is going to put together this year's anime 
convention. I want to ask him how it is he gets his funds together, like how he 
coordinates with the other people that participated in it. The convention lasts 
three days and they get vendors in from all over the place, some as far as the 
other side of the US! Last year they had it in Santa Clarita at the Hyatt. 
This year it will be held at the hotel on 10th street West between Lancaster and 
Ave I. I can't remember the name of it right now but it's a big hotel a few 
stories high. Since I was behind the scenes I saw how they ran the thing and 
they plan it all year long. The meetings have already begun and the convention 
will be held on the first weekend of October. The reason I am mentioning the 
anime convention is that I read an interesting article in Witch magazine that 
said anime and Wicca have a lot in common with the principals that anime puts 
out. My kids are totally aware of it and agree with the article. Now think about 
it for a bit. Maybe this could be a group we could include in the list of 
vendors. I think a lot of young people would show up if there were some of these 
vendors. I will talk to the guy and see what he thinks about it. 

I also wasn't sure if me helping out without first telling you was a good 
idea, but then I read this and wanted to let you know. I go down to L.A. a lot 
too and can be on the look out for a band. I am not sure of the distance but if 
I try from right now I may find something out. My kids too have their groups 
in high school that know people in bands, little groups of teenagers. I don't 
know any personally but I will ask them to ask around too. Anyways, I'm writing 
all this in case I DON'T make it out tonight. Hopefully we can talk more 
about this. Oh and I met someone that works at the Bath & Body Shop in the mall 
and I told him about coming out to the moot. He expressed a desire to join a 
coven and wasn't sure where to look. He noticed I was wearing my newly purchased 
pentacle and he came to talk to me. I felt good that I was able to tell him 
about the group and he is familiar with the Mystic Winds store. His name is Matt 
in case he shows up. I have a whole bunch of ideas going through my head but 
I need some time to see if any of them will work. I hope I am not sounding 
like I am in over my head or anything but in the past I have participated in a 
lot of stuff the church, where I went to school when I was young, put together, 
like carnivals and charity drives, newspaper drives, bake sales, and 'yard' 
sales where people donated their things to sell. Obviously we don't have a place 
like that so that would have to be looked at too, where things like this can 
take place.

Well hopefully you'll get this message before tonight and I hope I can make 
it out.
