[AVPPride] Awesome Job, folks!

Lisa, you are endlessly AMAZING!!! How wonderful it is for you to put on
this event as you do -- I love it! I didn't get a chance to stay the whole
day like before (had to work), but I was there for two hours on an extended
lunch break from my pagan-friendly job (at PC Club on Ave P). My manager
even showed up at the park just after I left...

But to all the incredible people that were involved in getting this thing
together again, I thank you. I feel so recharged from the ambience of
events like this and I'm so happy to have it here to attend, the rare
occurrence that it is.

Aside: I'd like to share with you a dream of mine that I would like to
catapult into reality sometime in the future. Don't know when it would
happen, but keep it on the backburner of inspiration as it is for me. I
want to build a real-life Diagon Alley, of sorts -- mostly just a
double-sided strip mall modeled after a medieval stone street, such as seen
in the Harry Potter movies, where I can rent shops to vendors for cheap and
we can have a "Pagan Pride Day" any/every day we wish. I have some other
fun ideas to add too that I'll keep secret as a surprise. This is all
hinging on my getting rich from something, so *when* that happens ;o)
beautiful things might develop.

Cheers!

Hey all I want to write and thank everyone for helping out, Nan and her
daughters Jaime, JT and Jacqueline, Julia and Stacey, Maria, Carolena, Scott
and Stephanie, Westley, and Mark who let us use the truck to haul items
there that were way big (the big tables we rented)

The event went fairly well, I think. I was pleased by the attendance at the
Wiccan ritual, and the blot was a bit smaller than in the past but we were
up against a Viking event in san Diego that probably got some folks to
attend down there.

Regardless, this event happened because YOU stepped up to MAKE It happen by
volunteering.

I believe we collected 395 lbs of food this year.
Someone will count the money when I get the stuff out later and we'll be
able to tell you more about how we did. I have a feeling we lost money
though.

I want to schedule a post PPD breakdown or such where we can talk about
ideas for next year.

Please think about volunteering to help next year and even be in charge of a
particular aspect of the event.

I am seriously considering moving the event somewhere cheaper next year,
though. I think there are some problems with this park not the least of
which is the water/mud problem. :(

More to come... Post your thoughts though, I'd like to hear them.
